Job Description

The Resolute Group is working in partnership with a highly established engineering consultancy specialising in complex infrastructure projects. Due to continued growth and an expanding project portfolio, they are seeking an experienced Team Leader to join their technical team.


This is an exciting opportunity for a senior geotechnical professional who is looking to take the next step into a leadership position, combining technical expertise, project delivery and team management responsibilities.

The successful candidate will have a strong background within geotechnical engineering, ground engineering and infrastructure projects, with experience managing complex design activities and supporting clients across major developments.


Day-to-day responsibilities will include:
  • Leading and developing a team of geotechnical engineers and technical staff, providing both technical guidance and operational direction.
  • Managing complex geotechnical engineering projects across infrastructure sectors, including transport, rail and civil engineering developments.
  • Overseeing the preparation of technical reports, assessments, calculations and engineering documentation.
  • Providing expert consultancy services and supporting clients throughout the full project lifecycle.
  • Managing geotechnical design activities including ground investigations, foundation engineering, earthworks, tunnelling and specialist ground solutions.
  • Coordinating multidisciplinary teams and acting as a key technical interface between clients, project stakeholders and internal teams.
  • Supporting business development activities, including client relationships, project acquisition and technical proposals.
  • Ensuring quality standards through technical reviews, mentoring and knowledge sharing across the team.
  • Working closely with senior leadership to support the continued growth and development of the geotechnical department.

Job Requirement

Requirements:
  • Degree qualified in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering or a related discipline (M.Sc., Dipl.-Ing. or equivalent).
  • Significant professional experience within geotechnical engineering, ground engineering, rock mechanics or specialist foundation engineering.
  • Previous experience managing projects and providing technical leadership within an engineering consultancy environment.
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure design processes, ideally within transport, rail or major civil engineering projects.
  • Experience producing and reviewing geotechnical reports, assessments and engineering documentation.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard geotechnical design software and numerical modelling tools.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with clients, stakeholders and internal teams.
  • Fluent German language skills required.
  • Valid driving licence.
