An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Electrical Resident Engineer to join a leading international engineering consultancy, overseeing the installation and commissioning of large-scale Data Centre projects across Europe.

Location: Germany (with potential travel across Germany, Austria, Norway and Switzerland)

Salary: €90,000 – €110,000 (dependent on experience)

Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured Data Centre projects, they are looking to appoint an experienced Electrical Resident Engineer to support site delivery across multiple locations.

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly motivated Electrical Resident Engineer to provide on-site technical oversight during the construction and commissioning of major Data Centre developments.
Working closely with clients, contractors, consultants, and commissioning teams, you will ensure that electrical installations are delivered to the highest quality standards, in line with project specifications, programme requirements, and industry best practice. The role may involve travel to projects across Germany, Austria, Norway and Switzerland as required.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as the on-site Electrical Engineering representative throughout the construction phase of Data Centre projects.
  • Monitor and inspect electrical installations to ensure compliance with design specifications, project standards, and relevant regulations.
  • Review contractor installations, technical submissions, inspection reports, and quality documentation.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, contractors, commissioning specialists, and client representatives.
  • Identify technical issues during construction and work collaboratively to deliver effective solutions.
  • Support testing, commissioning, snagging, and project handover activities.
  • Produce regular site reports, documenting progress, quality, risks, and technical observations.
  • Promote the highest standards of health, safety, and quality across all project activities.

Job Requirement

Requirements
  • Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience working as an Electrical Resident Engineer, Site Engineer, Clerk of Works, or similar role within a consultancy or engineering environment.
  • Essential: Previous experience delivering Data Centre or Mission Critical projects.
  • Strong understanding of electrical building services installations, commissioning, and quality assurance processes.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Fluent English is essential.
  • Willingness to travel across Germany, Austria, Norway and Switzerland as project requirements dictate.
