Commercial Manager – Shetlands Islands
Working for a Tier 1 contractor, managing a £80m project based on the Shetland Islands for the next 3 years.
Your Location: UK wide (Near an airport for ease of travel in to Aberdeen Airport)Project Location: - Shetland Islands (1 hour flight from Aberdeen)
Working pattern: 10 days on / 4 days off
Salary: £85,000 - £90,000 basic + £7,250 Car allowance + 15% yearly bonus

Role Description
The Resolute Group have been retained by a Tier 1 Civil Engineering contractor to secure a Commercial Manager for the next major project starting on the Shetland Islands.
Running a small team of Quantity Surveyors, your role is to be based on the project, working closely with the project team and being the Commercial lead of an £80m project. Reporting in to the Senior Commercial Manager who is responsible for the North of Scotland and a 6 project portfolio.
The contract is under NEC and due to this my client is looking for someone who has been delivering projects under NEC3/4 with in the Infrastructure sector. This is a great opportunity to join the project I the ECI phase before the work starts on site. Understanding the contract and identifying any early risks with the team and client to ensure the project is delivered smoothly.
Your duties will include:
This is the perfect opportunity to either progress in to a Commercial Manager position or move your skills from other sectors in to the Energy and Power sector which has a £12bn of projects to deliver over the next 6 years in Scotland.
If you are delivering projects £20m+ in value on NEC form of contract, the ideal sector background can be:

Salary: £85,000 - £90,000 basic + £7,250 Car allowance + 15% yearly bonus
Subsistence:
- £24,000 per year
- Monthly bonus
- 90 hours of bonus overtime per month (built in to your normal working day due to the 10 days on / 4 days off shift pattern)
- All flights
- All travel cost to the Airport (Parking / Taxis)
- Housing accommodation.
- End of project Bonus

- Drive Project Profitability: Lead and delivery the commercial strategy for the Shetlands Island project to manage profit margins and cash flow for the scheme.
- Control Project Budget: Oversee accurate financial forecasting, monthly Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs), and detailed end-of-project cost reporting.
- Handle Subcontractors: Contractual management of the supply chain partners, managing their accounts, and evaluating their valuations fairly.
- Assess Risk: Identify and analyse financial risks.
- Resolve Disputes: Manage any future compensation events, contract variations, financial claims, and formal contractual disagreements.
- Build Client Relationships: Act as the primary commercial point of contact for the client's financial teams and project stakeholders.
- Mentor Staff: Train, support, and develop the quantity surveyors who are part of your team.
